In 1887, the concept of the slot machine was invented by a workman named Charles Fey. Based in San Francisco, they were handmade and proposed to local little casinos in an agreement with possessors to have a 50% rental fee for their usage. Lots of people think that early slot machines were really huge and heavy. In fact they have got approximately the same size as slot machines today. The most significant dissimilarity is that images were different back then. Modern slot machines with fruit images appeared a bit later. In 1907, Charles Fey made decision to become partners with the Mills Novelty Company to create a row of new slot machines. Mills Liberty Bell was the first model. The first fruit symbol slot machine had been called Operator Bell. It was designed by Mills Company several years later. The early slot machines had a great weight, so it was a quite complicated task to move the slot machine from one casino to another. To resolve that complexity the first wood cabinet slot machine was created by Mills Company.
