Punk originated in the 1970's as a jarring, irregular take-over against common current of pop music. Rock ensambles alike Green Day, the Offspring, and Rancid boosted punk back in the mid-1990's. This time the weave of lively, upfront rock with catchy pop melodies cooled heels on the MTV. These days, so-called punk pop is a key part in the sphere of mainstream pop music. These 10 albums are fine starting points to learn pop punk.

1. blink-182 - Enema of the State

In blink-182's never-ending attempt to offend all grown ups in the vicinity, this album shed light upon a lady clothed as an enema nurse on the cover. The music inside is adolescent and unforgettable with the massive hit single “Aliens Exist.”

2. The Donnas - Spend the Night

This group from Canada appeared in the public eye in October with their album Grow Up. This second album is much better and covers the hit song “Welcome To My Life.”

9. Sum 41 - Pain For Pleasure

10. Weezer - Weezer (Blue Album)
